There are seasons when making feels less like creativity and more like care.
Maker & Reader began quietly. Not as a business idea, but as a way to slow down and tend to what was needed right in front of me. Dry hands. Sensitive skin. The familiar ache that comes with working, caring, and moving through full days without much pause.
I started paying attention to the things we reach for most. What soothed. What grounded. What felt comforting without asking for anything in return. Simple ingredients. Familiar scents. Small rituals that fit easily into real life.
Making became a way to listen.

Herbs infused slowly. Blends adjusted gently. Nothing rushed. Nothing made just to be new or impressive. The goal was always usefulness, something meant to be picked up often, worked into daily routines, and trusted over time.
The name Maker & Reader reflects the balance. The Maker is the one who works with their hands. The Reader is the one who notices. Textures, scents, memories, meaning.
This space lives between the two.
Here, I’ll be sharing notes from the apothecary: reflections on making, stories behind certain blends, and the quiet moments that shape the work. Some posts will be practical. Others will be reflective. All of them come from the same place. Care, curiosity, and attention.
Thank you for being here at the beginning. This work is still unfolding, and I am glad to share it with you.
